Meet Carol D'Angelo

Born in Buffalo, NY to a solid middle class family, Carol D'Angelo was blessed with great parents, one brother and three sisters. She graduated from Barry University in Miami with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She worked as a cardiac nurse for many years, then went back to school to become a certified financial planner. Carol and her husband, Michael, started Treasure Coast Financial Corp. 24 years ago. "We have worked hard to build a successful business," says Carol. "We also try to give back to our community in a number of ways, through our church, St. Lucie Catholic Church, our pro-life ministry and by supporting numerous charities, esp. PSL Volunteer Ambulance and the Boys and Girls Club of PSL. We have been blessed in our life and our work and are grateful to share our blessings."

Tanzanian Cardia Foundation and More

Carol is one of the founding members of the Tanzanian Cardia Foundation. She explains how this came about. "My husband Michael and our parish priest from Tanzanian, Fr. Mark Mlay, both were turning 50. One in August and one in September, so we went out to lunch and Fr. Mark was telling us about a shipping container he had just sent to Africa. He started to tell us there was not even one cardiac hospital in the entire country. That is how the idea and dream started. That was eight years ago.

"My first mission trip to Tanzania changed my life forever. They have literally nothing but they were some of the happiest people I have ever met. No one complained about anything and believe me they had stuff to complain about, the poverty was absolute. I came home with an appreciation for all we have in this country starting with electricity and running water and paved roads."

Carol takes part in various other volunteer activities as well. She is very active at St. Lucie Catholic Church as an usher and adult altar server.  She is also a member of their bread ministry. She picks up the donated bread and pastries from Publix and takes them to the drop off area. They are then distributed to areas of need in her community and also Indiantown.

One must do all one can for everybody, expecting no return, save from God only.  ~ St. John Vianney

What People Say about Carol:

Sr. Ernesta Ngowi, the doctor at N’garenairobi Health Centre, told Carol (after her organization bought the people a cow) that we had not idea how we changed their lives. Instead of having to buy one liter of milk for the seven women and girls at the convent, once the cow delivered her calf she would produce seven liters a day. Plenty for them and some left over to sell.
